Having been around for more than a decade, fans of the original Smite have been eagerly awaiting a sequel to give the game a facelift. Once you’ve figured out the next Smite 2 Alpha dates and how to access them, feel free to take a look at all Smite 2 Gods for the game so you can start planning out who you want to try first.

When Is the Next Smite 2 Alpha Date?

Hi-Rez is yet to reveal the next Smite 2 Alpha test just yet, though it is likely in the next few weeks. Alpha Playtest 1 went live from Thursday, May 2 to Sunday, May 5, 2024, so it is no longer available.

Given that the previous playtest took place recently, the next one could be weeks or even months out. We’ll be sure to give this guide an update once we have more solid intel on when the next alpha will be held.

How to Access the Smite 2 Alpha

To be able to participate in the Smite 2 Alpha tests, you will need to send a request for access. This isn’t guaranteed, but you will be notified if the request is granted. You can guarantee access by purchasing a Founder's Edition.

Requesting access to the next Smite 2 Alpha test can be done by visiting the game’s Steam page and clicking on the Request Access button under where it says ‘Join the Smite 2 Playtest’. For those on Epic Games, PS5, or Xbox consoles, you can register for alpha through the official Smite 2 website.

Guaranteed access to alpha playtests is given to those who purchase Smite 2 Founder’s Editions. There are three tiers of Founder’s Editions, all of which can be bought through the Smite 2 website or Steam.

Smite 2 Alpha Patch Notes

As more playtests come and go, the developers may post patch notes on how they're adjusting the game as Smite 2 nears its official release. So far, Hi-Rez Studios has stated that Smite 2 Alpha Weekend 1 was focused on core combat gameplay and more technical aspects of the game, like online match hosting.

As the Smite 2 release date nears, further alpha tests are likely to include other things like testing new Gods and balance tweaking according to player feedback.

Smite 2 Alpha Content

The content included in the Smite 2 Alpha is expected to shift depending on what needs testing. As of the latest playtest, Conquest is the only mode available. This is the standard MOBA setup with a three-lane arena, a set of Phoenixes (towers) across the map, and a base for each team.

The original Smite had over 100 Gods to play as while duking it out with other players. During the Smite 2 alpha, you can choose from 14 different Gods, some of which have skins that will alter their appearances on the battlefield. Again, as we near launch, you can expect more packed into each alpha and subsequently beta test.

And that’s all we have on when the next Smite 2 Alpha will take place, how you can access it, and what you can expect content-wise. While waiting for the next playtest, you can visit our Smite 2 hub for the latest on the upcoming MOBA game.
