To air yank in Spider-Man 2, hold Triangle when in the air and looking directly at an enemy.
Provided you're positioned correctly and have the ability in your roster, you'll yank the targeted enemy up into the air, not landing any damage specifically, but teeing them up for a beating.

This is incredibly handy if you're trying to complete a specific objective or achievement requiring you to maintain a certain combo, or to juggle a fixed amount of mid-air hits. It can be hard to keep your enemies in the air all the time, especially if you're hitting others in between, so the air yank will fast become one of the key tricks up your sleeve.
Combined with a few uppercuts or even the swinging kick, you'll quite quickly find yourself able to build up an impressive mid-air combo using the air yank. As long as you get the timing and camera angle down properly, it should become second nature in no time.
