Trying to figure out how to get Mystery Boxes in Stardew Valley? We’ve got info that will help you get your hands on these peculiar containers.
With Stardew Valley finally getting the long-awaited patch 1.6 update, fans of the game are being treated to a bunch of new content. Among the new additions included in this update is an in-game event that allows you to obtain Mystery Boxes.
Once you feel you’ve collected enough of these Stardew Valley Mystery Boxes, feel free to check out some of our other guides on the farm life sim game like how to get clay and how to repair the community center.
How to obtain Stardew Valley Mystery Boxes
You can get Mystery Boxes by completing some of your regular Stardew Valley activities like mining, fishing, and chopping down trees. These new geodes are generated randomly, so there is a bit of luck involved when trying to collect Mystery Boxes.
But before you can start acquiring these Mystery Boxes, you’ll first need to trigger a cutscene where someone flying a plane will drop a bunch of boxes in your general area. This event can pop up randomly after you go to sleep.
The boxes from the cutscene don’t really drop anywhere since it’s just there to let you know that Mystery Boxes can now be randomly found while doing your chores.
How to open Mystery Boxes in Stardew Valley
You can open Mystery Boxes by taking them to Clint the blacksmith on the east side of Pelican Town. Unfortunately, Clint’s box-opening services aren’t free and he’ll charge you 25 gold for each Mystery Box you want opened.
Here’s a list of what some players have found inside these boxes so far:
- 10 Quality Fertilizer
- 10 Deluxe Speed-Gro
- 10 Hardwood
- 8 Pepper Seeds and 8 Wheat Seeds
- 3 Coffee Cups
