The Shattered Space DLC for Starfield introduces several new locations that are inaccessible in the base game. These exclusive areas expand the player's exploration and story options within the universe.

One such location is the Keep Armory, a key site where players can acquire advanced weapons, equipment, and other resources essential for their journey. This article will explain how to unlock the Keep Armory to ensure you have the gear needed for later challenges.

The armory is located in Dazra City on the moon Va’ruun’kai, accessible only through the Shattered Space expansion, so you’ll need this content to unlock it.

Begin by progressing through the main storyline of the Shattered Space DLC by completing two key quests:

  • What Remains: This quest involves traveling to a desolate system and boarding the ship Oracle. You will restore the ship’s functions and receive a transmission that concludes the quest.
  • The Promised, Broken: You'll explore the storyline further once you finish What Remains. This will eventually take you to Dazra City on Va’ruun’kai. A major part of this quest involves walking the Serpent’s Path.

After completing them, you'll need to talk to an NPC named Ekris. He will give you the Aligning the Houses quest, which divides into three unique routes for the major houses.

  • Conflict in Conviction (House Veth’aal)
  • Exhuming the Past (House Dul’kehf)
  • Zealous Overreach (House Va’Dic)

To access the Keep Armory, you must focus on Conflict in Conviction, the House Veth’aal questline. However, completing one of the other house quests alongside this one may help your overall progress in the DLC.

Without completing this quest, the armory will remain locked, and Marlana Volav will refuse to trade with you.

To complete the Conflict in Conviction quest in Starfield: Shattered Space:

  • Head to Herald’s Rest and speak with the NPCs to gather information about Vaeric’s location. Tane will eventually arrive at the bar. Pay him 1,000 credits or intimidate him into getting a tracker.
  • Use Tane’s tracker and travel northwest of Dazra City. Navigate through the terrain toward the Abandoned Camp. Periodically check your proximity using the on-screen alerts as you approach the target.
  • At the camp, you will need to find key clues such as Vaeric’s logs, a tracking device, footprints, and bloodstains. Once all clues are found, you’ll be attacked by Foul Vortex Horrors. Defeat them to proceed.
  • Follow the quest marker to Irina’s Farm. You can either pay, persuade, or threaten her to reveal Vaeric’s whereabouts. This will point you toward Apostate’s Refuge.
  • At Apostate’s Refuge, find Vaeric and confront him. You can choose to:
    • Kill Vaeric and bring his Signet Ring to Viktor.
    • Spare Vaeric, allowing him to live independently while receiving 10,000 Credits and the ring.
    • Persuade Vaeric to return to his family, though this won't give you extra credits.

To achieve the best outcome with both rewards and a positive climax, consider sparing Vaeric. This choice lets him continue his independent life while earning you Credits and the Signet Ring.

Once the decision is made, you can return to Herald’s Rest to potentially recruit Tane as a companion, depending on your choices.

Head back to Dazra City and find Marlana Volav in the north wing of the large ship where the armory is located. After unlocking the Keep Armory, you can now stock up on weapons, ammunition, and essential gear for your journey in the Shattered Space DLC.

There you have it! Now, you’re ready to take on the challenges of Shattered Space with powerful new gear at your disposal.
