How long to beat Super Mario RPG
As per our playtime, Super Mario RPG takes between 12 to 13 hours to complete.
At least, that's the figure our reviewer took to roll credits for the first time. That number could easily be inflated if you go for a 100% completionist route, fully levelling up all party members or playing some minigames you might've missed out on.
Once you complete the game and see the main credits, your current save file will get a yellow star attached to it, as you can see in our screengrab. This indicates that the save file in question is now complete, granting you access to some nifty things like a dedicated music player and the ability to rematch bosses.
This length come as a bit of a surprise, however. As per HowLongToBeat, the original Super Mario RPG takes the average player around 17 hours to complete the main story, notched up to roughly 25 hours for 100% completion. As such, this remake is significantly more streamlined.
Regardless, there's still plenty to dive into. You've got the entire main adventure to enjoy, plus some post-game boss battles to test your might after completing the story for the first time.
