When it comes to surviving the Family, Connie in Texas Chainsaw Massacre is one of the best. What she lacks in physical prowess, she more than makes up for in other areas, and this makes her one of the trickiest survivors to catch. Incidentally, this also makes her one of the easier characters to play when you first start.

Building Connie up from her base form is not too difficult either, as she is very well-rounded. Not only that, her biggest weaknesses aren’t fixable, so focusing on other areas is a natural way forward. In this guide, we are going to break Connie down to her core so you can grab yourself more wins.

Overview of Connie in Texas Chain Saw Massacre

Connie is, for all intents and purposes, a farm girl who loves to evade captors, pick locks, and generally outsmart cannibals in her personal space. Her stats are fairly balanced, but she has a noticeable slant towards the more cunning aspects of Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Very few characters can match her when it comes to manual dexterity, but this comes at the cost of raw power.

Connie is one of the easier characters to play, making her an ideal starting character for new players. She’s also very scalable and due to her incredibly powerful ability, Focused, she can be built in all kinds of ways. Sadly, she does have one glaring weakness, and that is a lack of perception, which means you could be in more danger than you realise.

If played well, Connie can slip past the killers, secure an exit, and guide her team to victory. If she is given room to breathe, she can almost certainly escape without much assistance.

Connie’s attributes in Texas Chain Saw Massacre

Connie’s attributes are mostly around the average side of things, which makes her very malleable when it comes to building her up later on. Her toughness is reasonable at 20, although it’s nothing to write home about. Her Endurance is slightly higher at 25, giving her a larger pool of stamina to work with.

Her weakest stat is her Strength rolling in at 15, which comes with all kinds of negatives. Firstly, if she is ever grappled, she isn’t escaping. This can lead to very quick deaths if you aren’t careful. Not only that, but it also means she struggles to break objects and do any physically demanding interaction.

On the flip side, her Proficiency is great at 35. This stat dictates her ability to picklocks, disable batteries, and generally engage in dextrous actions. This is complemented by her Stealth of 30, letting her get the slip and stay hidden with ease.

Connie’s unique ability in Texas Chain Saw Massacre

Topping off Connie’s core is her ability, Focused. This ability is not flashy, nor does it have many uses. What it does is allow Connie to instantly pick any lock providing she has an unlock tool. This allows Connie to very quickly escalate a game towards victory, as all she needs to do is find the exit and crack it.

Of course, some exits have multiple barriers, but since Connie can instantly bypass one of them, she’s very effective at getting out alive.

The downside to this ability is twofold. Firstly, it has a ludicrous cooldown period. It’s very unlikely you will get to use it twice in a single game, so you need to put thought into when to use it. Secondly, this ability has the constant downside of reducing her threat perception. This means Connie can’t tell she’s in danger until the killers are right on top of her.

Connie will either escape suddenly or die unexpectedly. There is no in-between.

Attribute progression for Connie in Texas Chain Saw Massacre

When it comes to levelling Connie up, it’s important to keep her ability, Focused, in mind. Since Connie can crack any lock of her choosing, levelling up Proficiency isn’t that important. Doubly so, since it starts so high to begin with.

Our go-to progression pushes Strength, which may seem odd since it’s so low as standard, but it allows Connie to interact with more of the world more effectively. Connie is your walking, talking, lock-cracking genius, so having more ways to get through a larger selection of “locks” only makes her more effective.

Once you’ve invested in Strength, you are free to boost any stat you desire. Toughness can help her survive when she’s ambushed. Endurance can help with her stamina issues. Stealth can ensure she’s undetected. The world is your oyster at this point.

Best early game perks for Connie in Texas Chain Saw Massacre

Connie has an excellent selection of perks to choose between from the get-go. However, we’ve compiled the best perks you can pick early on. For this, you want to immediately go ‘up’ on the skill tree.

Remember, all perks become more powerful as you use them. Stick with the same perks, and you will grow in strength far faster.

Lucky Lockpicker

Since Connie is highly adept at picking locks, getting buffs to your lockpicking makes a lot of sense. Luckily, Lockpicker is the first Perk you can select from your Skill Tree, and it’s very effective. It gives you a 30% chance to retain a lockpick when you use it for the first time. This increases to 50% at max level.

Whenever this Perk triggers, you will be able to move around the map far quicker as you won’t have to scavenge anywhere near as much.

Bomb Squad

When you consider we are building Connie to be a universal obstacle remover, Bomb Squad just makes sense. This allows Connie to remove bone traps (those noisy bone charms) without a bone scrap. This frees up her inventory and allows her to carry extra lockpicks, fuses, and healing items. A very simple perk that plays into Connie’s play style perfectly.

Must Have Been The Wind

Our final perk, Must Have Been The Wind removes noise penalties when rummaging for items and comes with three charges at level one, but scales to a whopping six. This speeds up Connie’s play as she can quickly loot the items she needs and then move on to more important things (like escaping).

Individually all of these perks are very strong, and together, in conjunction with Connie’s base strengths, they are outstanding.
