Faron Temple in Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is a forest-themed dungeon in the Faron Wetlands. It is infamous for its dark rooms, tricky puzzles, and enemies.
Though entering the temple may appear overwhelming, the rewards make it a worthy pursuit. In this article, we’ll explore how to enter Faron Temple and overcome the challenges that stand in your way.
How To Enter Faron Temple in the Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
Entering Faron Temple revolves around the main quest of sealing the rifts threatening Hyrule.
As part of your journey, you must explore various temples, including the Faron Temple, to restore balance and prevent the world from falling into chaos.
The temple has puzzles, enemies, and environmental challenges you must overcome to progress. These areas are interconnected, so be prepared to navigate between different floors and outdoor spaces.
When you first approach the temple in the Faron Wetlands, the entrance is blocked by a door surrounded by flames, with six torches lit outside. Your goal is to extinguish all six torches, but they will reignite after a few seconds.
To do this efficiently, use a Wind Cannon Echo to blow out all the torches simultaneously. Stand in the center of the torches, raise the Wind Cannon, and spin to extinguish them all simultaneously. Once the flames are gone, the door will open for you.
Upon entering the temple, head to the right and start climbing the walls while being mindful of enemies. You can send an Echo like Peahat to help take care of them from a distance. Climb higher through the walls and platforms until you come across a room featuring two Buzz Blobs.
You can defeat them using either Echoes or your Swordfighter Form to clear the area. In this room, you’ll find crystals that need to be lit up to proceed. Start by lighting the crystal in the center, then move to the upper left corner to activate another.
The final crystal is hidden behind a metal barrier in the upper right corner of the room, but you can hit it by launching an Echo from a nearby platform. Once all three are lit, a new door will open, leading you further into the temple.
As you progress, you’ll eventually reach the temple's exterior again. Head up to the fourth floor, where you’ll notice thick webs and a pair of blue eyes watching over the area. To avoid detection, use boulders to block the eyes' sightlines as you move toward the right-hand room.
Inside, drop down to activate a floor switch, which will open a path back to the third floor. Now, you’ll need to carefully navigate rooms filled with moving blocks, waiting for the right moment to cross safely. Strike any green gems, as they often unlock doors or reveal essential items (like a small key).
Continue exploring the temple, solving puzzles, and avoiding traps as you work your way to the lower levels. After unlocking a door with the small key, in the Main Chamber you’ll face a massive Deku plant with two heads. To defeat it, target the red beads on its neck; hitting these will deal extra damage.
Once defeated, the surrounding Deku plants will wilt, making your path forward easier. Later, you’ll encounter another Deku plant miniboss, but this time with four heads. Dodge its poisonous attacks and focus on the red nodes to bring it down.
Afterward, you’ll earn a big key that unlocks the door to the temple’s main boss. Return to the first floor and unlock the large door leading to the boss's chamber. The boss in question is Gohma, a spider-like creature.
Gohma will launch eggs at you and release toxic clouds, so keep moving to avoid these. Fire-based Echoes are effective in destroying the eggs, and Gohma’s weakness to electricity makes it vulnerable to electric attacks.
Once you defeat Gohma, you’ll free Tri’s friends and restore the rift. You’ll also receive five might crystals for completing the temple, bringing you one step closer to saving Hyrule. Use waypoints in the temple for fast travel, which will help you backtrack if necessary.
