From the Gerudo Desert to the Eldin regions, the diorama-like visuals from The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening are back in The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom's version of the Hyrule Kingdom. While Princess Zelda's solo adventure has garnered fantastic reviews, it does not change the fact Nintendo has once again created a vast version of the game world.
Traveling to different areas is easy once players unlock a warp point, but having to trek across these lands can become tiring. Fortunately, you can access a horse early in the game, and this guide will help you gallop along in no time!
Horses are in Hyrule Ranch
Hyrule Ranch is home to many horses that are available to ride on. It is located in the western part of the map, just a bit north of Suthorn Village. Once you reach the ranch, several horses are available to ride on, but Zelda can't bring any horses outside the ranch. A rancher will have a quest indicator in their dialogue bubble, suggesting that a horse has gone missing. Talk to him and start the Runaway Horse quest.
How to Complete the Runaway Horse
Once you start the quest, the rancher will mention that the missing horse went further west of the ranch. Go right to the next area and look for three plateaus nearby. Once there, a small lake with a small island in the middle will be located in the bottom right of the area. The missing horse will be stranded on the island inside the small lake.
The easiest way to retrieve the horse is to diagonally stack several Bed Echoes, creating a makeshift set of stairs. Zelda can then target the horse and use Bind so the horse will easily follow her up the stairs and out of the lake. You can then ride the horse back to the Hyrule Ranch.
The rancher will then thank Zelda for retrieving the missing horse and allow her to rent any horse she chooses for free. There are three available horses, and players can now ride the wind, classic Zelda-style.
Horses will automatically gallop, and players just have to press the direction to go using the left thumbstick. Pressing A will prompt the horse to dash, while pressing B or the opposite direction of the horse using the left thumbstick will bring the horse to a stop.
Your trusty steed will now become available to you, and going through the different villages and areas in the kingdom will now be a breeze. Check out this wonderful list of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom guides to help you save Link and the rest of Hyrule.
