Arms Warrior
September 26, 2022: Wrath Classic launches today!

Are you looking to get into World of Warcraft's latest Classic expansion, Wrath of the Lich King Classic? Does the sound of hitting things hard with big weapons sound appealing? Well, our WotLK Warroir leveling guide should help you quite a bit!

Leveling in World of Warcraft is a pretty lengthy process. Regardless of what class you play, knowing what the best spec, talents and even professions that you roll with can make that process much smoother. Our guide will cover all those details and more as you venture into Northrend.

While you're here, if you're interested in other Wrath of the Lich King Classic content, then check out our DPS Tier list, our Healer Tier list and our Tank tier list. You might also be interested in our dungeon guides, such as our guide for Utgarde Keep.

Best Warrior leveling spec for Wrath Classic

Our first order of business is to compare each of the specs that Warrior has available to them. We'll talk through their pros and cons and give you a recommendation for the best leveling spec.

Arms

  • Pros
    • Strong cleave ability, good for 2-3 targets
    • High burst Area of Effect
  • Cons
    • Weak scaling
    • Lack of defensive options

Fury

  • Pros
    • Strong single target damage
    • Strong cleave damage
    • High mobility
  • Cons
    • Lack of strong defensive options
    • Area of Effect capped at 4 targets

Protection

  • Pros
    • Great threat generation
    • High personal DPS and AoE potential
    • Fun rotation
    • High mobility
    • Good interrupts and CC
  • Cons
    • Too reliant on Block rating to be effective

From these reasonings, we're going to recommend leveling as Arms. While there's a play to be made for Protection if you want to dungeon level, Arms is going to be the play for solo leveling. You should probably pick up Protection though as dual spec option at level 40.

WotLK Arms Warrior talent tree

Next up we'll look at the Arms tree. Generally speaking, you're going to take most of what you see in the Arms tree, except the second rank of Trauma. Here's what to take afterwards.

Level 62 - 80

  • Level 62 - 66: Cruelty (all ranks in Fury tree)
  • Level 67 - 71: Unbridled Wrath (all ranks in Fury tree)
  • Level 72 - 74: Improved Cleave (all ranks in Fury tree)
  • Level 75 - 77: Blood Craze (all ranks in Fury tree)
  • Level 78 - 79: Improved Execute (all ranks in Fury tree)
  • Level 80: Trauma (rank 2)

These ranks done matter too too much because you're going to end up doing a respec when you hit level 80. You'll spec into Fury if you're going to do end game content as a DPS.

Best Warrior leveling professions for WotLK Classic

For professions, we'd recommend doing gathering professions while leveling. We'd recommend Skinning for the Crit buff, and Mining for the Stamina boost. For crafting professions, we'd recommend doing Jewelcrafting and possibly Engineering or Blacksmithing.

For our Glyphs, we have a three major and minors to work with here. Here's our recommendations for these.

Majors

  • Glyph of Bladestorm
  • Glyph of Overpower
  • Glyph of Sweeping Strikes

Minors

  • Glyph of Charge
  • Glyph of Thunder Clap
  • Glyph of Battle

Our majors are buffing some of our stronger skills, while our minors give us quality of life.

And that's all that we have for you! The Warrior is a class that starts off about average. But by the end, it shines in DPS with Fury, and that's a great reason to pick one up. While you're here, definitely check out our Wrath Classic PVP tier list, as well as some other dungeon guides, for the Nexus, and the Culling of Stratholme.
