The new Zelda game is coming out on May 12, 2023, at 12 AM ET. You are already able to pre-purchase the digital copy of the game for 70$. And as of May 6, you can also preload the game ahead of time so that you can play it as soon as it is released.

The preload should begin automatically as soon as you pre-purchase the game. It will not start downloading until the transaction is fully completed, so if there are issues with your purchase, you will have to wait for the payment to go through.

Some players canceled and repurchased the game in order to fix those issues, but that puts you at risk of being charged twice.

If your transaction has gone through and your preload still hasn’t begun, you can download it manually by going into the Nintendo eShop app > profile > redownload. There you should have all the games you have already purchased, including Tears of the Kingdom. Tears of the Kingdom is a pretty large game and you will need at least 16.2 GB of free space on your Switch.

The trailers and gameplay footage of Tears of the Kingdom look amazing. We should get everything that made Breath of the Wild such a great game, as well as a lot of new features. We cannot wait to finally be able to try Link's new adventure. And before you go, check out our guide on whether you can repair weapons in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.
