Getting lost inside a Hollow is a scary thought so you’re going to want some powerful allies by your side as you explore these dimensional distortions. With this Zenless Zone Zero Ben build, you’ll have one of the best defenders in the game on your squad.
Ben Bigger is an A-Rank Fire Defense Agent, making him one of the more unique characters in Zenless Zone Zero, at least right now. Even better, however, is that Ben is also a free character that you can get by participating in the Rookie on the Road event. Once you’re done going over our Ben build, put it to the test in ZZZ endgame activities like Hollow Zero and Shiyu Defense.
Best Zenless Zone Zero Ben Build
The best Ben build in ZZZ is:
- Best W-Engine: Big Cylinder
- Best Drive Disc: Swing Jazz (4pc), Soul Rock (2pc)
- Best Bangboo: Rocketboo
- Best Teams: Ben, Koleda, Soldier 11
- Stat Priority: Defense
You may not have everything on this list, but Zenless Zone Zero has plenty of other items that’ll help make Ben a reliable teammate in battle. In fact, if you play him right and pull off plenty of perfect blocks, then Ben can reduce the DEF of enemies. This is a great benefit for your DPS characters, so it's not all about turtling up.
Zenless Zone Zero Ben Best W-Engine
Ben is all about soaking up damage in a fight so the Big Cylinder W-Engine works perfectly with his skills. It provides a significant damage reduction bonus while simultaneously buffing the wearer’s offensive capabilities. This nicely ties into Ben's natural counter-based playstyle.
W-Engine | Rarity | Stats | Effect |
---|---|---|---|
Big Cylinder | A | Base ATK: 624 / Defense: 40% | Reduce damage taken. After being hit, the next attack will be a critical hit that deals extra damage based on the wearer's DEF. This can trigger once every 7.5 seconds. |
Spring Embrace | A | Base ATK: 594 / Attack: 25% | Reduce damage taken. After being hit, the wearer's Energy Generation Rate is increased for 12 seconds. This effect will be transferred over to the next character if the wearer is swapped out. |
Bunny Band | A | Base ATK: 594 / Defense: 40% | Increases max HP by 8%. The user's ATK is increased by 10% while they are shielded. |
Zenless Zone Zero Ben Best Drive Disc
Having Ben wear the full Swing Jazz set will further his supportive capabilities as it perfectly aligns with his playstyle. The remaining two slots can be used on Soul Rock for extra DEF, which will increase his damage and survivability even more.
Drive Disc Set | 2-pc Effect | 4-pc Effect |
---|---|---|
Soul rock | Increase Defense by 16%. | Take 40% less damage after losing HP from an enemy attack. |
Swing Jazz | Increase Energy Regeneration Rate by 20%. | Increase the damage output of the entire squad by 15% for 12 seconds after using a Chain Attack or Ultimate. |
Inferno Metal | Increase Fire DMG by 10%. | CRIT Rate is increased by 28% for 8 seconds after hitting an enemy that is Burning. |
Zenless Zone Zero Best Ben Teams
As the only Defense-type character at launch, Ben can help any team comp fix their survivability issues. However, do keep in mind that pairing him up with Koleda will unlock some impactful team-up moves that can help you clear out Hollows quicker.
Team | Character 1 | Character 2 | Character 3 |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Ben (Defense) | Koleda (Stun) | Soldier 11 (Attack) |
2 | Ben (Defense) | Koleda (Stun) | Grace (Anomaly) |
3 | Ben (Defense) | Lucy (Support) | Soldier 11 (Attack) |
Zenless Zone Zero Ben Best Bangboo
Rocketboo doesn’t really do much for Ben’s playstyle but it synergises extremely well with the math-loving bear’s best team comps. If you’re looking for something more catered towards Ben, you can choose to go with Paperboo instead.
Bangboo | Rarity | Active Skill | Passive Skill | Chain Skill |
---|---|---|---|---|
Rocketboo | S | Mount a rocket and charge an enemy. The rocket will explode on impact and deal Fire DMG to enemies in an area while inflicting Fire Anomaly Buildup. | Bangboo Chain Attack will deal 80% more Anomaly Buildup when there are at least two Fire characters on the team. | Mount a rocket and charge an enemy.
