How to Make a Zenless Zone Zero Build

When thinking about how to make the best builds for your characters, there are four main things to consider:

  • W-Engine
  • Drive Disc
  • Bangboo
  • Team comps

W-Engines are effectively weapons that you can equip to each character, providing basic stats and various bonus effects that are integral to boosting the power of a character. Likewise, Drive Disc are equipment items that similarly provide stats and bonus effects, though these are parts of item sets. Equipping multiple items of the same set with grant additional effects. The goal is to find a W-Engine and Drive Discs that complement and enhance the abilities of your chosen character.

ZZZ’s Bangboo, on the other hand, are like pet companions. These support you in combat as you explore Hollows. They’re not crucial to your builds initially but they will come in incredibly handy when you’re taking on the ZZZ endgame activities. This includes the challenging Shiyu Defense and Hollow Zero.

Last but by no means least is pairing your characters with strong teammates. A build can only ever be as strong as the team the character is with, so having the best Zenless Zone Zero team comps is vital. For example, you’ll generally want a main DPS character, a sub-DPS character, and a support unit to keep the damage flowing in challenging activities.

Likewise, characters have Attribute and Faction synergies. Having characters of the same Attribute and/or Faction will activate bonus passive abilities, many of which are incredibly strong. When putting a team together, see if you have other characters that match the element or team that you could pair with them.

This also ties into the character's role in your team. For example, you could use a character like Anomaly Agent Grace as a DPS, though they're best used as an Electro-applicator in a team with a character of another element to trigger Disorder. Depending on what role a character is playing in your team, you might need to slightly adjust your gear or playstyle to make the most of them.

Obviously, you will also want to make sure both your character and abilities are leveled up to keep up with the scaling of enemies as you progress.

Now you know all the best Zenless Zone Zero builds, it’s time to get to work.
