Zenless Zone Zero has plenty of dynamic action in its gameplay, but your skills will be put to the test if you decide to dip your toes in some endgame content. We’ve also got a guide on W-Engines to help you gear up for these challenges.

Zenless Zone Zero Endgame Content Explained

Endgame in Zenless Zone Zero involves building team comps of your best Agents to go toe-to-toe with some of the most formidable bosses in the game. There are currently two endgame modes in Zenless Zone Zero called Hollow Zero and Shiyu Defense.

You’ll be able to obtain some valuable rewards by clearing these modes, so taking a few shots at these encounters is usually worth your time. Just be sure to set some time aside since you might end up taking more than just a few attempts at getting the clear.

Hollow Zero Mechanics and Rewards

Hollow Zero is a roguelike mode within Zenless Zone Zero. If you’re a fan of other HoYoverse titles, you’ll find this piece of content to be very similar to Honkai Star Rail’s Simulated universe. Before entering Hollow Zero, players will select three characters to bring into the game mode. You’ll only be able to play one of these Agents at the start, but the other two will join you as you progress.

As a roguelike mode, players will go through a series of encounters before reaching the final boss. Clearing an encounter will give your team buffs that can drastically change how you play the game. These encounters and buffs will be randomized each time making each playthrough of Hollow Zero a unique experience.

You can obtain the following rewards from clearing Hollow Zero:

  • Polychromes
  • Inter-Knot Credits
  • Banbgoo Algorithm Modules

Rewards from Hollow Zero are reset weekly. Playing this mode doesn’t consume Battery Charges, so you can play through it as much as you like with no restrictions.

Shiyu Defense Mechanics and Rewards

Shiyu Defense is another form of endgame content in Zenless Zone Zero that is comparable to Spiral Abyss in Genshin Impact. Here, players will form teams of their favourite Agents to try and take down a set of powerful bosses within a time limit. Clearing more bosses in Shiyu Defense means more rewards for you to claim. This is arguably the hardest form of content in Zenless Zone Zero though, so don’t take it lightly.

Later stages in Shiyu Defense will require you to form two 3-man teams. That means you’ll need to invest in at least six different characters for a better shot at defeating the bosses in Shiyu Defense within the time limit. Boss fights, rewards, and any unique effects within this mode are refreshed and updated regularly. Clearing a boss encounter within Shiyu Defense will reward players with Polychromes, the game’s form of premium currency.

And that’s everything we know about endgame content in Zenless Zone Zero. To help make sure your Agents are strong enough to clear these game modes, be sure to do your dailies and check out everything that the Zenless Zone Zero battle pass has to offer.
