If there’s anything we Zenless Zone Zero players crave over than gacha pulls and new characters, it’s account upgrades. In ZZZ, this is known as your Inter-Knot level, increased by completing virtually any activity in the game. However, every so often your progress will be blocked and you’ll need to earn enough Zenless Zone Zero Observation Data to continue.

You will want to get this Observation Data as soon as you can to be able to increase your Inter-Knot level. After all, it prevents you from taking your characters and gear to the next tier, which is required to beat endgame activities like Shiyu Defense and Hollow Zero.

How to Get Observation Data in Zenless Zone Zero

Observation Data in ZZZ is acquired by locating them in TV tiles during Exploration Commissions, completing bonus challenges in Combat Commissions, and beating Mewmew challenges. Commissions can be accessed using the Hollow Deep Dive System in the Random Play video store.

Exploration Observation Data has a yellow globe-like icon, whereas Combat Observation Data is red. Though these are two different types, both are counted collectively towards the level-up requirements. This means you can collect either, so prioritize easier missions and challenges to get them faster.

There are a limited number of Observation Data in each chapter:

Chapter Exploration Observation Data Combat Observation Data
Prologue - Chapter 15436
Chapter 25733
Chapter 2 Interlude3033
Chapter 32718

Though you won’t need to collect every Observation Data available, you will need quite a few to progress, especially as you get further up the ranks. For example, you will need 125 Observation Data to promote your account to Inter-Knot level 40.

Exploration Observation Data

You will naturally earn some Exploration Observation Data as you progress through the Main Story Commissions. These are contained in TV chests that display the relevant icon during TV sections of Main and Exploration missions. All you have to do to collect these is to move into the tile and you will collect the Exploration Observation Data.

Chances are that you’ve missed some Observation Data on missions you’ve already completed. Don’t worry though, you can replay these missions to find any you’ve missed.

You will also earn Exploration Observation Data completing Mewmew challenges in each of the ZZZ maps, which includes objectives like finding lost cargo trucks or completing certain side activities. It's a great way to pick up some extra Observation Data on the side while also earning other freebies for handing in Mewmew's challenges.

Combat Observation Data

Combat Observation Data, on the other hand, are much simpler to earn. Combat Observation Data can be earned by completing the challenges of Combat Missions. Typically, these are to complete the commission, beat the target time, and have no more than one character defeated, each granting one Observation Data.

Like the Exploration Observation Data, don’t worry if you’ve failed a bonus challenge. You can replay these missions at any time by simply heading back to the HDD computer and selecting the mission again.

So, get out there and collect all the Zenless Zone Zero Observation Data you can. To get ready for the more challenging endgame content, take a look at our ZZZ tier list and keep up with the latest ZZZ banners and codes to add valuable new characters to your roster.
