We've been playing Halo Infinite for a while. Have you not? Along with the solo campaign available now, co-op campaign coming in a few months, and Forge mode coming later, having Halo Infinite free-to-play would be an absolute pleasure for those new to the franchise unsure whether they fancy diving all the way in.

343 have been paying attention to the wider world and are adopting a free-to-play model for their multiplayer, especially important after the success of Call of Duty: Warzone.

Is Halo Infinite free-to-play on PC and Xbox?

343 confirmed at E3 that Halo Infinite's Multiplayer will be free-to-play! Better still, 343 also confirmed that the game will have crossplay, which allows players on Xbox and PC to play together.

The multiplayer mode is the only free-to-play aspect of the game though. So for those wondering, No, Halo Infinite's campaign is not free-to-play.

If you happen to have Xbox Game Pass though, the whole game including the campaign (and Forge Mode when it comes out) will be playable at no extra cost. What a delight.

Here's the launch trailer to whet your appetite a little.
