Halo: The Master Chief Collection may have been a disaster when it launched on Xbox One all the way back in 2014, but it's now the definitive way to play through Halo 1 - 4, as well as the post-launch additions of Reach and ODST.
With the collection slated to come to PC, all we've got so far is Halo Reach, which sold incredibly well on Steam when it first launched.

Since then, developers 343 Industries has been quiet – presumably, because they're also working on Halo: Infinite, a pseudo-reboot due this year for Xbox Series X and PC.
Thankfully, it looks like we won't have to wait long to finally step into the Chief's armoured boots on PC.

Halo: Combat Evolved PC Release Date
Beta testing concluded in February, but a recent trailer suggests that the Chief could be able to pick up his famous assault rifle (and famously overpowered pistol) using mouse and keyboard very soon.

Fans have pointed out that the audio from the scene is actually taken from Halo: Combat Evolved's intro. Is it just a nostalgia trip, or will we be defending the Pillar of Autumn soon and crashlanding on our first Halo ring?
Sign us up for Blood Gulch, any day, and with Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4 all due to be released this year, we'd imagine we're due for one any time now.
