Halo Infinite Ranks Explained
Previous iterations of the shooter required you to progress through an XP-based structure. Instead, the latest episode follows a rank-based scheme that is attached to its battle pass system. Following a hierarchy split into six separate blocks, the highest rank is that of Onyx.
For each tier, there are six levels for which you can advance:
- Bronze (I-VI)
- Silver (I-VI)
- Gold (I-VI)
- Platinum (I-VI)
- Diamond (I-VI)
- Onyx
If you're just booting the game up, you'll need to play 10 matches before being placed into a specific rank. However, it's important to remember that these placement matches are specific to the ranked queue you want to compete in. So, you'll need to play 10 matches in the Solo/Duo queue with a controller, alongside a separate 10 matches each for Solo/Duo using mouse/keyboard and for the open queue.
After being asserted a position, you can continue to play matches allowing you to advance further through the ranks. You can also be demoted based on your performance in matches - the final result (win or lose) also determines this progression.
