Other leaks

According to Bloomberg's Jason Schreier, the Harry Potter game is expected to launch late in 2021. Additionally, a Reddit thread from someone claiming to be working with Warner Bros on promotional materials for the game rumoured to be known as Hogwarts: A Dark Legacy, has revealed some fresh details about how it'll actually play.

While these aren't verified, and the name of the game was wrong, they suggest players will step into the robes of a Hogwarts student and play "all the way until graduation". Players can customise their student's gender, appearance, and whether they'll be a pureblood, a muggle, or half-blood Wizard or Witch.

There are romance options, as well as hub areas including Hogwarts, Hogsmead, and the Ministry of Magic. Each of these will offer their own characters to interact with, as well as quests to complete. There's also an RPG skill tree, as well as a version of Shadow of Mordor's Nemesis system that'll create rivals within the in-game universe. You'll battle creatures, and if the films are anything to go by, that means arachnophobes might want to steer clear of the Forbidden Forest.

Quidditch will also play a part, as well as a card game that's on a similar level to Gwent in The Witcher 3.
