Horizon Forbidden West continues a positive trend by including accessibility features, which we've just seen outlined by Guerilla Games. Speaking on the PlayStation Blog, principal designer Brian Roberts detailed exactly what players can expect, going beyond subtitles and difficulty options.
Offering adjusted controls for left-handed gamers, players can remap the controls to their liking. There's further options too, like allowing players choose how long time slows down when bringing up the weapon wheel, alongside letting player choose how much concentration Aloy gets as she aims her bow.
Horizon Forbidden West Outlines Its Accessibility Features
Naturally, gamers seeking the "standard" Horizon Forbidden West experience won’t need to fiddle with these, but having these options available is fantastic for a wider audience. We've seen an increased focus on accessibility in recent years with PlayStation Studios, including The Last of Us 2 and Marvel’s Spider-Man.
Horizon Forbidden West launches on the PS4 and PS5 next week on February 17, 2022. The first game, Horizon Zero Dawn, is readily available on PS4 and PC, which was recently patched to provide 60fps support on PS5. We'll keep you informed as we learn more.
