Gamescom this year continues to bring us a bunch of great surprises! We're getting a bunch of great reveals and trailer. This time we got a little surprise from Mundfish about their game Atomic Heart.
We've been given a little trailer, as well as a release window from the devs, and from what we've seen, it's looking promising! In this guide, we'll cover everything that's currently available about Atomic Heart.
If you're interested in another major RPG that was announced at Gamescom, then you'll definitely want to check out our coverage of Dune Awakened. It's an open world survival MMO set in the Dune universe that looks promising.
When does Atomic Heart release?
We got our very first announcement of Atomic Heart way back in 2018. But since then there hasn't been much until the Gamescom announcement. But thanks to the devs, we have a release window and it's sooner than you'd expect!
Over on Twitter, Mundfish details that we will be seeing Atomic Heart launch late 2022 on PC and Console. They linked the Steam page for the game, so if this game looks up your alley, definitely go throw it on your wish list!
Atomic Heart Trailer
The trailer that was dropped at Gamescom is a combat trailer to showcase how you're going to be slaying your enemies. It does look similar to something that we'd see out of Elder Scrolls or Bioshock. We have powers in one hand, and a weapon in the other. The combat looks pretty quick, with movement seems to play a large role in combat.
The game is set in a futuristic utopian disaster-scape. It seems that the robots have rebelled and we have to fight them off. The landscape looks bright and vibrant, but also futuristic and brutal, and it's a really interesting dynamic.
And that's all that we have for you at this point. Given that the game is due to come out in the coming months, it shouldn't be long before we end up getting more information about the game and an official release date. Be sure to check back, as we'll bring all of that to you when it drops.
While you're here, if you're looking for another game that has a bright and beautiful but brutal game, then you might be interested in checking out our review of Cult of the Lamb. It's an action roguelike adventure game that has engaging gameplay and a stellar aesthetic.
