Will there be a Resident Evil 5 remake?
Though we have no official confirmation just yet, we suspect that we will see a remake of Resident Evil 5 in the near future. Here is a timeline of the previous remakes so far:
- Resident Evil 2 remake - January 25, 2019
- Resident Evil 3 remake - April 3, 2020
- Resident Evil 4 remake - March 24, 2023
It seems likely that COVID-19 slowed down production, and Resident Evil 4 was likely due to hit a little sooner than it has. With this in mind, we think the Resident Evil 5 remake will be announced over the next year or so, for a launch in early 2025.
After the positive reception to the Resident Evil 4 remake, it would be foolish for Capcom not to continue with the remake approach. The original Resident Evil 4 leaves a few hints at the series' narrative future, so fans will no doubt clamour for even more remakes of older Resident Evil titles.
