Warzone Season 1 start date
Warzone Season 1 will begin on December 6, 2023, which means the final days of Al Mazrah are upon us. With Urzikstan becoming the main battle royale map, there are only a few more weeks before Al Mazrah disappears for good.
We've seen previous Warzone seasons fall victim to a potential delay. If there are any signs of Season 1 being pushed back, we'll be sure to update the guide with the latest information.
Warzone Season 1 roadmap
Ahead of the new season, Raven Software has unveiled a full roadmap unveiling some of the changes making their way in Warzone Season 1. Check out the full roadmap below.
Warzone Season 1 content
In addition to the new map and weaponry, there are plenty more additions making their way to Warzone in Season 1. Here's a closer look.
Movement changes
The ability to slide cancel is returning in Season 1 in a bid to increase the pace of play. It first featured during the Verdansk era but disappeared with the launch of Al Mazrah.
Tac stance
Tac Stance is another new mechanic to master in Warzone Season 1. Acting as a hybrid between fully aiming down sights and firing from the hip, Tac Stance offers a new way for players to fire their weapons during the heat of battle.
For some weapons, the mechanic will make an impact but for others, it may be worth avoiding to maintain high levels of accuracy.
A train
Players can ride a train around Urzikstan if they want to move around the map quickly. They can even operate a brake to stop it from moving if they're looking to deal with any potential threats.
The train is bound to prove a popular place to land. Just remember to pull the brake to spring a surprise on anyone riding up front.
New perks
Perks play an integral role in creating the strongest loadouts to use in Warzone Season 1. To mark the Modern Warfare 3 integration, Raven Software plans on introducing new perks for even more variety.
Here's the full list of new arrivals:
- Irradiated: Move faster and take less damage while in the gas.
- Tempered: Now also available as a Custom Perk, Tempered allows you to refill armor plates to full with two plates instead of three.
- Combat Scout: Bullets you fire briefly ping an enemy for you and your squad. Hitting the enemy from farther away increases the ping time.
- Resolute: When taking damage from gunfire, this grants a short bonus to movement speed.
- Shrouded: Drop a smoke grenade when downed.
- Mountaineer: Reduces fall damage.
- Stalker: Increased strafe and aim down sight movement speed.
- Escapist: Increased downed, prone, and crouch speed.
- Primed: Accuracy and time to aim down sight is improved while jumping.
- Faculty: Delay triggered explosives while sprinting, warns of nearby enemy equipment, and reduces combat noise.
In addition to the new Warzone perks, Raven Software has announced the following perks are now equipped by default:
- Tac Pads: Improves slide distance and allows for full ADS while sliding, along with increased stance transition speeds.
- Commando Gloves: Enables reloading while running.
- Quick-Grip Gloves: Increases your weapon swap speed.
- Climbing Boots: Increases climbing and mantling speed aspect.
- Overkill: Allows you to pick two Primary Weapons.
Horizontal ziplines
For even more ways to navigate the map, horizontal ziplines are arriving in Season 1. These will prove vital when looking to traverse between two tall buildings or over a lake where swimming may not be the best plan of action.
New vehicle
A brand-new vehicle in the form of the Coyote is arriving in Season 1. The ATV is a dune buggy and a mounted machine gun making it an excellent option for moving around Urzikstan as fast as possible.
