Lineage 2M Class - The Best PVP and PVE Options

February 24, 2022: The latest big patch hasn't added a single new Lineage 2M class.

What's the best Lineage 2M class, you ask? That's a question fronted to every MMO under the sun. It's ever-more relevant given this game features a solid mob farm grind as well as enticing PVP, but its unique race and class combo system can make detailing the best combinations rather unintuitive and confusing for newer players.

It's still early days yet. Things are bound to change as patches iron out any kinks or player problems. But for now, the best Lineage 2M class depends on a couple of things, and we're going to detail them below.

Before we get started, though, why not pop open our list of the best Android MMORPG games in another tab? If Lineage 2M simply isn't for you, you might just find your new obsession over there. Likewise, if you're feeling adventurous, check out our Roblox guides hub as well. Games like Blox Fruits and Shindo Life are spawling MMORPGs in all but name.

Lineage 2M Class List

Class (collective term) Race
SwordHuman, Elf, Orc, Dwarf
Dual BladesHuman, Elf, Dark Elf, Dwarf
SpearHuman, Dark Elf, Orc, Dwarf
DaggerHuman, Elf, Dark Elf, Dwarf
BowHuman, Elf, Dark Elf, Orc
StaffHuman, Elf, Dark Elf, Orc
OrbHuman, Elf, Dark Elf, Dwarf

The Lineage 2M class you can choose depends entirely on the race you wish to play. If you don't care about the perfect race and inherent stat spread for a class, you're free to play any Lineage 2M class you want. If that's not the case, you'll need to pick your class based on your preferred race. For example, humans can be Knights (sword), but dark elves can't.

In fact, humans can pick any Lineage 2M class they want, but their balanced stats won't make them the stand-out choice for any. At the other end of the spectrum are the orcs. With only three of the six Lineage 2M class choices available to them, their stat spreads are more tightly aligned with the possible options.

At least when it comes to farming mobs and grinding XP, the best Lineage 2M class has to be Orb—the collective term for the game's healing class. It might not sound like the best approach, but players across the game's Reddit and Discord communities seem to agree that the area damage potential and essential self-sustain skills make the Orb the go-to class choice for quick leveling and item farming.

Only the Orc race can't pick the Orb class during character creation, so be sure to avoid that one if you're looking to play the best PVE Lineage 2M class available. You could probably go Orc Warlock and team up with an Orb player, but the best Lineage 2M class right now is seen as such because it can farm both solo and AFK farm.

As for which race to pick, you'll want a good balance of Wisdom and Intelligence. The Elf Oracle combination is the best option, but other races don't fall far behind. The higher your level and the more gear you collect, the less you'll notice these single stat differences.

Right now, it's understood that any Dagger class is the go-to for PVP combat. Because Lineage 2M likes to give the same class a different name with each race, you'll want to look for Raider (Human), Seeker (Elf), Assassin (Dark Elf), and Rogue (Dwarf).

As you'll have noticed by the lack of a race in the list above, Orcs have no Dagger Lineage 2M class available to them, making them inherently the worst choice for this style of PVP. The general idea is to be sneaky and fast on your feet, delivering sharp, swift, and potent blows to unsuspecting players. Orcs are traditionally loud and sluggish, making them better suited to aggressive front-line tactics typically employed by warriors and knights.

Technically speaking, a Dark Elf/Dagger combo will perform best in PVP purely because of their higher racial AGI stat. That being said, they won't be the most durable. If you want a little more staying power and room for error, a Human Dagger or Drawf Dagger might be a better option.

It's worth noting that many even consider Orb to be one of the best Lineage 2M class options for PVP at the moment. Whether due to its endurance, team heals, area damage, or light crowd control effects, if you're looking to dabble in both PVE and PVP, Orb may be the better pick.
