Madden NFL 21 offers more plays than ever, and laterals are one of the most fun to use.
These plays throw opposition off guard by throwing the ball in a direction away from the opponent's goalline, such as backwards.
Madden NFL 21: How To Throw A Lateral Pass
Lateral passes are achieved using L1 or LB on PS4 or Xbox One respectively, as well as having a player running behind to receive it.
PC players should be able to use "P" to achieve the same result, although we're awaiting confirmation on this.
These passes are risky, as the ball is considered live. Therefore, dropping the ball or fumbling it can lead to a turnover.
