Marvel Rivals introduced an interesting mechanic to the game known as Team-Up. How this works is that two characters can come together, allowing their synergy to essentially combine and create a unique blend of their abilities. These abilities can then, in turn, be used to significantly impact the dynamics of the game.
While there are a plethora of characters in the game who each have their unique abilities through which they shine, there are a few noteworthy team-ups that stand out. Below, we’ll discuss the 7 Best Duo Team-Ups in Marvel Rivals so you can partner up and dominate the battlefield!
Top 7 Best Duo Team-Ups in Marvel Rivals
For a Duo to be considered dynamic and impactful, it’s better to offer multi-functional attributes to the characters involved in the synergy. While every pair-up might not offer this, few team-ups do—and they allow the heroes (and allies in general) involved to effectively capitalize on this.
1. Hulk & Wolverine: Fastball Special
Fastball Special combines Hulk’s and Wolverine’s aggressive gameplay to wreak havoc across the battlefield. As the title suggests, the name of their “combined ability” is called Fastball Special.
Here, Hulk’s able to essentially pick and impel Wolverine towards his opponents, creating a gap for the latter to engage in rapid close-combat playstyle. The unique thing about this pair-up, apart from the high damage output it offers, is granting Wolverine the ability to effectively close gaps between him and his opponents.
2. Scarlet Witch & Magneto: Metallic Chaos
A killer combo, this is where Scarlet Witch combines her manipulative magical abilities with Magneto’s magnetic attributes, creating a unique combination to deal significant damage to their opponents.
As the title suggests, the combined ability is called Metallic Chaos. Here, the Scarlet Witch uses her magic to diffuse Magneto’s greatsword with Chaos Energy, effectively enhancing the damage output of the weapon. Since there’s magic involved, the sword also gains additional attributes that instantly make Magneto a buffed character.
3. Rocket Raccoon & The Punisher: Ammo Overload
Rocket has great mobility and ranged abilities, while The Punisher can use his arsenal of weapons to wreak havoc across the battlefield. When we combine both of the heroes’ traits, we get Ammo Overload.
Here, Rocket deploys a device that enhances the Punisher’s firepower capabilities. Once activated, the device allows the Punisher to gain infinite ammunition alongside an increased fire rate, increasing the character’s overall efficiency by a mile.
The great part about this team-up is that it isn’t only restricted to dealing damage. The infinite ammunition also allows the Punisher to consistently annoy and put pressure on his enemies, turning their attention away from his teammates and creating gaps for them.
4. Adam Warlock & Star-Lord: Guardian Revival
A unique combination of characters, the Adam-Lord duo is known as the Guardian Revival in Marvel Rivals. Here, the former deploys a cocoon that allows Star-Lord self-reviving abilities after giving in to enemy damage.
This allows the team at large to carry on with this offensive momentum. On an individual aspect, it allows Star-Lord to reduce his downtime. In highly intensive situations where heroes are engaged with one another, this ability can also serve as an element of surprise for the enemy.
5. Iron Fist & Luna Snow: Atlas Bond
Iron Fist is a damage-dealing martial artist while Luna capitalizes on her cryokinetic abilities in the game. Combining both of them creates a unique blend of abilities, known as Atlas Bond.
Through Atlas, Luna Snow gains the ability to deploy an explosive ring of ice, which performs two functions. Firstly, it’s able to reduce enemy movement. Secondly, it regenerates her allies’ health over time. This not only ensures that there are enough gaps for her teammates to capitalize on but also makes it easier to tackle opponents.
Combining martial arts mastery with cryokinetic abilities, this duo offers a blend of offensive strength and supportive healing.
6. Doctor Strange & Clea: Sorcerer’s Pact
The Strange-Clea Duo utilizes teleportation and offensive abilities to control the dynamics of the game. Their combined abilities are known as Sorcerer’s Pact, where both the heroes come together to make a teleportation system by essentially creating a portal.
This allows them and their allies to instantly relocate to multiple areas of the map with ease, creating instant opportunities to reposition or retreat, depending on the situation. Additionally, enemy players who interact or get caught in the portal’s energy field have to suffer a depleted health bar.
7. Black Panther & Shuri: Wakandan Power Surge
According to the comics, Panther and Shuri are siblings. In the game, they’re a dynamic duo introducing a unique blend and balance between agility and technological superiority. When together, this duo is known as the Wakandan Power Surge.
The effects of this pair-up are multifunctional. For starters, Shuri enhances Black Panther’s vibranium suit in a way where he can absorb incoming damage and convert it into kinetic energy. Finally, the converted energy can then be used to deal explosive damage to the enemies.
Secondly, Shuri also gains a supportive turret which essentially targets all the enemies that Panther engages with, allowing the duo to promote sustainability, offensiveness, and crowd control on the battlefield.
