Iron Man is a Duelist in Marvel Rivals. Although the character doesn’t boast the best health pools in the game, he makes up for it through his mobility, high damage output, ranged attacks, and the ability to stay airborne. Boasting one of the highest-rated damage outputs in the game, Stark can quickly turn the tides in his favor during battle.
That being said, a warrior can’t ever expect to go into battle and win—unless he has help from his allies. Marvel Rivals is no different. No matter the character, you need teammates who align well with you.
The article below will look at the best teammates for Iron Man in Marvel Rivals.
Iron Man Abilities in Marvel Rivals
In battle, you can expect Iron Man to capitalize on three of his attributes more fondly than others: the ability to stay airborne, high DPS, and mobility. Due to each of these traits, the character becomes dynamic and deadly.
Iron Man’s primary weapon is known as the Repulsor Blast. Here, the character hits his enemies with projectile missiles. The effectiveness is relatively low if it’s registered as an AoE damage. Consistent damage can be deadly for opponents when registered as an impact.
Stark’s secondary attack is known as the Unibeam. As the name suggests, this ability allows Iron Man to form a mid-range energy beam that can consistently damage enemy players. Having one of the best DPS ratings in the game, Unibeam can make or break a fight for Iron Man.
Hyper Velocity is another ability to talk about. As the name suggests, it allows Stark to maneuver the map with insane speed. It can be used for repositioning, escaping, or flanking enemy players.
Finally, the Invincible Pulse Cannon, known as Stark’s Ultimate. Here, he releases a concentrated blast of energy (which deals a lot of damage and covers a lot of area) at his targets to critically lower their health.
Best Heroes to Duo Iron Man With
Pairing Iron Man with heroes whose abilities synergize with his own can significantly enhance team performance. Here are some top choices:
1. Doctor Strange (Vanguard)
Doctor Strange is a Vanguard in Marvel Rivals. Due to his mastery of mysticism, he can manipulate time and space, serving as an effective duo for Tony Stark.
On the supportive side, Stephen utilizes Time Warp, an ability that can slow down his enemies. This gives Iron Man a golden opportunity to capitalize on his Unibeam and wipe out the opposing team.
While Stark’s an airborne character with ranged abilities and decent mobility, he can still take critical hits and fall into danger. In such a circumstance, Stephen Strange can come to the rescue. By utilizing the Shield of Seraphim, the character can protect Tony from incoming damage, granting him extra protection and sustaining him.
2. Adam Warlock (Strategist)
Since Adam Warlock is a Strategist, most of his synergic pros are related to supporting Stark. That being said, Adam’s pretty effective at what he does.
When fighting in battles, Iron Man can rely on Adam Warlock to regenerate his health consistently, enhancing his durability and allowing him to combat enemies longer. Another unique thing about Adam is his healing projectiles: these can bounce between allies, providing an area-of-effect healing that benefits the entire team.
Beyond the healing, Adam can also significantly enhance Stark’s damage output. In cases where the latter’s using his offensive abilities like the Unibeam or Repulsor Blast, Adam can use his respective abilities to increase the damage they dish out.
Finally, in cases where Iron Man critically depletes his enemies’ health but can’t get the elimination due to some reason, Adam Warlock can utilize his Celestial Barrage to gain the kill and assist Tony Stark.
3. Magneto (Vanguard)
Magneto is another Vanguard in Marvel Rivals who uses his mastery over metal to influence and manipulate the battlefield according to his will. Due to the variety in his abilities, he can perform both a supportive and defensive role. No matter the situation, he can be an excellent ally for Stark.
Let’s talk about the defensive side of things first. Tony’s a Duelist who doesn’t necessarily boast a high health pool in the game, so it’s logical to assume that he’ll need to escape or reposition oftentimes throughout the game. In such a case, Magneto can provide him with Metal Bulwark, a protective shield that absorbs enemy damage.
The same damage can then be used to power up Magneto’s Mag-Cannon, which he can use to provide additional gun support to Tony. Another ability that the character can use in case the Metal Bulwark is on cool-down is Metallic Curtain.
On the offensive side, we’ve already discussed one ability that can pair well with Iron Man. For instance, Magneto’s Ultimate, the Meteor M. Meteor M is essentially an AoE attack, where the character unleashes a barrage of metal on his enemies. This goes well with Tony’s Invincible Pulse Cannon, causing widespread destruction to enemies.
