Since Adam Warlock is a Strategist, his abilities are mainly used to support and heal his teammates whenever possible, prolonging their lifeline and adding more difficulties for his enemies. In this case, it is vital to understand how the character operates.

Starting with his skill set, the first ability to look at is the Soul Bond. Through this ability, Adam can form a connection with his teammates, which allows him to heal them over time. This ability also allows him to distribute incoming damage to all the teammates he has bonded with, reducing the overall damage output that a single ally would receive through enemies.

Another ability that is quite helpful for a Strategist like Adam is the Karmic Revival. Simply put, Adam Warlock can resurrect eliminated or fallen allies through this ability, granting them a second chance to take part in the battlefield and avenge themselves. While this ability may be overrated for some modes, it can certainly create an impact in those “do or die” situations.

While all these abilities are detrimental to his enemies, a downside here is that Adam has to stay near his teammates for these traits to register and hold value. Gauging by his role, this is understandable. Nonetheless, the point remains—players who can break the connection essentially gain an advantage.

Healing is not the only thing in Adam’s arsenal, though. Through abilities like Quantum Magic and Cosmic Cluster, Adam can deal significant damage to his opponents, adding supportive fire for his teammates in intense situations.

How to Counter Adam Warlock in Marvel Rivals?

Due to Adam’s abilities and his role as a Strategist, he requires proximity with his teammates, as previously mentioned. This can be seen as a disadvantage for the character.

He doesn’t have impressive mobility, because of which he’s defenseless in cases where his enemies manage to counter him and a retreat is required.

So, characters that possess the traits to disable his movement completely or isolate him from his teammates can easily take down Adam. Below, we’ll discuss some of them.

Iron Fist (Duelist)

Iron Fist is a feared opponent in Marvel Rivals. Thanks to his impeccable mobility and deadly damage output, he acts as an effective counter to Adam Warlock.

The character’s passive allows him to latch onto his opponents, dealing significant damage in the process. Additionally, he’s built for close combat. In cases where he and Adam are to face off in a one-to-one battle, the latter’s bound to lose. This becomes highly likely, especially when Iron Fist is blessed with top-notch speed while Warlock is not.

Abilities that help Iron Fist to go huge on the mobility aspect include Crane Leap and Wall Runner. Once the gap between him and Adam is closed, he can capitalize on his rapid melee attacks to deal significant damage to the character, eventually eliminating him after a short brawl.

Hawkeye (Duelist)

While Hawkeye doesn’t have a huge health bar, the strategic attributes and damage output he boasts are enough to take down Adam Warlock and his allies.

Fundamentally, Hawkeye’s a mid-to-long-range character, so he doesn’t have to get close enough to Adam. This is helpful, considering that the latter is close to his teammates, who can help him if he starts to take incoming damage from enemies.

The damage output from Hawkeye’s precision shots forces Adam to reposition, breaking his connection with allies and disrupting the support he has to offer. Through his passive Hunter’s Sight, he’s also able to see the afterimages of his opponents. Damage to these afterimages is then transferred to the original character.

Venom (Vanguard)

Venom is a Vanguard in Marvel Rivals. His high health pool already adds significant pressure to Adam Warlock, and his versatile skill set makes things all the more difficult.

Through Symbiote Snare, Venom can immobilize Adam, effectively putting a brief stop to his movement and healing, which he offers to his allies. It also allows Venom to close the gap between him and his opponent, dealing significant damage once Adam’s in his reach. Venom can also web-sling across the map, adding to his mobility and making it all the easier to get close enough to Adam.

While being a close-combat character mainly, Venom has the added advantage of being able to deal damage through range. With abilities like Dark Predation, Venom can annoy his enemies from a distance. Finally, through Symbiotic Resilience, he can gain bonus health, making him durable against his enemies, specifically Adam Warlock.
