Marvel Rivals will soon enter Season 2.5, with Ultron joining the ever-growing cast of heroes and villains. This mid-season update also means more costumes for existing heroes like Storm and Mr. Fantastic. One costume that has caught everyone’s eye is Magneto’s “Binary Sword” skin, as it's awakening something unexpected in several players.
To be blunt: Magneto’s Binary Sword skin in Marvel Rivals is very sexy. Fans of all genders and sexes have always had some attraction to this X-Men anti-hero, but this new character skin has doubled those admirers. It’s amusing how the lore's reason for this is Ultron trying to erase his humanity, when the character is showing more skin than usual.
Why is Magneto’s Binary Sword skin so sexy?
“Skin” is the appropriate word here because he’s showing plenty of it.
Although he isn’t wearing anything too revealing compared to Emma Frost or Squirrel Girl in Marvel Rivals, Magneto’s showing enough to get fans thinking. Ultron's virus only partially covers part of his chest, showing that he isn’t wearing a shirt. The character’s leg is also partially exposed, so he isn’t wearing any pants either.
Making Magneto stand out even more is his long hair and shaved face. While the character’s base outfit has his signature helmet and a beard, the Binary Sword skin gives him a clean shave and lets his luscious locks loose. It’s a look we didn’t expect to enjoy, but are very happy to get when it comes to the game in Season 2.5.
How do you unlock Magneto’s Binary Sword skin?
Fans will have to purchase the Combat Chest pass when it launches in Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 on May 30 to unlock Magneto’s Binary Sword skin.

+ 2While the Combat Chest has free rewards for fans who don’t want to pay, Magneto’s Binary Sword skin can only be unlocked as part of the paid tier. This will cost 690 Lattice, but will be lept forever like previous Rivals Battle Passes. Once purchased, fans will have all the time in the world to unlock this sexy skin.
NetEase Games knows that this skin is going to be everyone’s favorite, as it’s the last reward for the Combat Chest. It’s not the longest Battle Pass, having four pages worth of content, but at least fans won’t have to rush trying to unlock this skin for Magneto. This is genuinely one of the best features in Marvel Rivals, and we hope they don’t remove it anytime soon.
Is Magneto’s Binary Sword skin worth unlocking?
The answer is yes for anyone who mains Magneto or uses Rivals’ Vanguard characters.
click to enlarge + 2Fans who love using the Master of Magnetism in Marvel Rivals will want this skin, since it’s easily his best one thus far. He has a “tribute” to his classic red and purple costume, but it’s overdesigned and loses some of the appeal. Magneto’s base outfit is a good redesign for the character, but the bearded look isn’t for everyone.
Binary Sword gives Magneto a clean shave and gives the players something extra with the exposed skin. After months of the Marvel Rivals women getting bootylicious outfits, it’s good seeing some of the guys up their sex appeal. Some fans were probably hoping to see sexy outfits for Loki or Winter Soldier, but they can always come in the next season.
