Marvel Rivals may be a free-to-play game, but NetEase is expecting to milk the players out of their money with all the different available cosmetics.
Once in a while though, some cosmetics will come free, and Scarlet Witch’s look for the Hellfire Gala reveal is something that players can grind for by playing the game.
Scarlet Witch’s Hellfire Gala Skin
As confirmed by insider Miller Ross, players can earn Scarlet Witch’s new skin for Season 2 by finishing a total of nine games in either Quick Match and Competitive; even practice matches with AI are counted. Here’s the post:
With the free skins coming with launch, some fans are wondering if this is going to be a staple practice for NetEase, to which Ross replies, “Assuming the response is strong, I could see this strategy sticking around. But they're always experimenting with something new, so it's difficult to say. Plans change!”
Which Other Characters Get Hellfire Gala Skins?
click to enlargeWith the Hellfire Gala made to be an event where Marvel characters can come in high fashion clothing (like the Met Gala), NetEase has rightfully milked the theme for some fashion forward cosmetics with some characters.
So far, reveals include new looks for Captain America, Luna Snow, Black Widow, Black Panther, Wolverine, Hulk, and Cloak & Dagger; the official banner also reveals some looks for Rocket Raccoon and Star-Lord. Looks for Loki, Magneto, and Storm have all been previously released skins.
How Long is the Hellfire Gala?
With the announcement of a 2-month long season moving forward, it looks like Season 2 is still going to be following the 3-month long format. Besides the release of Ultron halfway through, there should also be some other Hellfire Gala cosmetics for other characters; fingers crossed NetEase drops another free one.
Marvel Rivals is now playable for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC. Season 2 launches on April 11.
