Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is coming to PC on August 18, but fans have been wondering what's happened to the Xbox One version.
Developer Asobo Studio has provided an update on the title, while stressing that the PC is very much the primary platform for the release.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Xbox One Version Update
In a recent press briefing (as reported by Windows Central) Martial Bossard, lead software engineer at Asobo Studio noted that the console version is helping to optimise the game for various PC setups.
"We are trying to have the best visuals on every single platform, and it's another layer of optimization."
"By the way, the Xbox will help us to optimize the product, so it will also be a benefit for PC. There is nothing PC will lose from the Xbox. It's basically the opposite. We're doing the work to have a better experience on the Xbox family, then we will improve the PC version at the same time."
With a new console launch on the horizon, it would be fair to say that perhaps the Xbox One version is not a priority for either Asobo or Microsoft as a whole.
