The whole gimmick of the A Quiet Place franchise is that they make loud noises horrifying for audiences because noise means that it will bring forth the series’ main monsters, the hearing-sensitive Death Angels.

This was also the premise of the upcoming A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead game where players will be forced to make as little noise as possible when traversing levels. However, the developers just found a whole new way to keep the game challenging by breaking the fourth wall.

A Quiet Place… Literally

In an announcement from the official game page, it’s been revealed that A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead will actually have a feature that will have microphone detection, meaning that if you make some actual noises, the game will be able to detect it and set the Death Angels on you in-game.

Not only will it be available for PC, but console players will also have the microphone feature. As per the official page, “The creatures will attempt to use your mic to track you in the game. Stay vigilant, or reap the consequences.”

Though that does sound like a neat feature that elevates the gaming experience, it’s very likely that players will be allowed to toggle the microphone access, seeing that not everyone is able to control the noise around their environment.

It’s also curious how streamers are going to handle their coverage of the game, seeing as there are some streams that are dependent on the player talking through the gameplay. Then again, there are also streamers that don’t really talk and all of their content is just purely what’s happening in the game.

Audiences will just have to wait and see what direction they go when the game finally releases.
