Remedy has excited fans with plenty of new content for Alan Wake 2, including a DLC that ties together multiple franchises from the developer, including Control.

If you're excited for what the Lake House DLC has to offer, this is everything we know about it.

Alan Wake 2: Lake House DLC - What to Expect

Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake 2 prepares its final DLC expansion, The Lake House. Coming sometime this October, just in time for the spooky season, the town of Bright Falls continues to suffer from a mysterious case of the supernatural.

There’s still a lot we don’t know about the DLC, but here are 4 things to expect in this terrifying new story for award-winning thriller:

Control Players Will Feel Right at Home

The Dark Presence’s aura still lingers and it’s up to the fine agents at the Federal Bureau of Control to quell this threat. Unfortunately, Jesse and the rest of the Bureau are still busy after the events of Control. The Hiss aren’t the only problem in the world, you know.

According to the base game, the Bureau’s status has gone AWOL, hinting that something large is happening to Director Jesse Faden’s home base.

The DLC takes place in the Lake House. A Bureau of Control research facility situated on the shore of Cauldron Lake. Despite their expertise on clandestine strategies, the place has gone silent, indicating that something terrible happened.

A New Face

Alan Wake and Saga Anderson have had their fill in the base game. Now, Federal Bureau of Control’s Kiran Estevez takes center stage as the DLC’s protagonist. You might remember her as the one agent tasked to investigate the Bright Falls AWE.

Alan Wake 2’s previous DLC, Night Springs, clearly had a lack of Estevez. Other prominent characters were part of the first expansion, including Shawn Ashmore’s Tim Breaker and Control’s Jesse Faden.

This is Kiran Estevez’s time to shine.

Return to Form

Estevez’s new perspective brings us close to the base game’s survival horror roots. Unlike the Night Springs DLC with its multiversal concepts, the Lake House is made to terrify players.

Kiran’s arsenal isn’t as well-equipped as Alan Wake or Saga, but her knowledge in the facility can get her access to even the most classified of places.

It’s not a Remedy game without an overarching mystery. The Lake House is made to expand the Remedy Connected Universe, adding new lore to the Control and Alan Wake stories. Some say the Lake House sets up Control 2’s imminent sequel.

We can only speculate as to what mystery is hidden inside this facility. Keen-eyed fans have already dissected the reveal trailer, uncovering a familiar face that was once present in the first Alan Wake game.

No one knows for sure what is going on here, but the good news is that this DLC is mere weeks away. Knowing Remedy, there will be more questions than answers.

Accessing the DLC requires the Alan Wake 2 Expansion Pass. This gives you access to the first DLC, Night Springs, as well as a slew of bonus cosmetics for Saga and Alan.

The upcoming physical Deluxe and Collector’s Editions of Alan Wake 2 will also include both DLCs. If you own the Standard Edition of Alan Wake 2, you will need to upgrade to the Deluxe Edition to access the expansion.
