Apex Legends developers have revealed enhanced anti-cheat measures are in the works.

With all eyes on what Season 21 has in store, Respawn Entertainment has shared a wealth of information surrounding the upcoming season. Ranging from huge changes to Broken Moon to the long-awaited return of solos, the latest Apex Legends season promises to be an exciting one. However, cheaters continue to run rampant much to the annoyance of fans dropping into the action.

Thankfully, Respawn Entertainment is listening to player concerns and is preparing to unleash anti-cheat measures to prevent hackers from gaining an unfair advantage.

During a Season 21 briefing, lead progression designer Chris 'C4' Cleroux shared details on how the developer plans to combat those exploiting the game for additional benefits:

"We recognize cheating, especially boosting, became more common in Season 20 by lowering the access to Level 20 and by allowing premades to be of any ranks. The team is always working on detection and solutions for cheating. We can't share details as it would give cheaters an unfair advantage."

Despite the lack of details surrounding new Apex Legends anti-cheat measures, it's positive to hear the developers are actively working on solutions to prevent boosting and hacking on a larger scale.

Design director Even Nikolich also spoke on Respawn's anti-cheat efforts:

"It [anti-cheat] is a constant thing we're working on. We're not going to reveal our plans but when it happens, players will know about it. It's something that is high priority and our top engineers are working on addressing the issue."

An exact timeframe for Apex Legends anti-cheat hasn't appeared, nor is it likely to be announced in a bid to catch cheaters off-guard and to prevent them from finding any workarounds. For now, the ban hammer is preparing to swing so stay vigilant and report any cases of wrongdoing so cheaters and hackers can stop ruining casual and competitive matches.
