An Apex Legends developer has revealed some handy tips and tricks for new players dropping into the action during Season 21.

The new Apex Legends season, Upheaval, brings a wealth of new content to the battle royale. From the long-awaited return of solos to the arrival of Alter to the Legend pool, plenty of players will take to the dropships once more.

With the beginning of Season 21 on the horizon, one developer has shared tips and tricks on how new players can master the mechanics of the battle royale as fast as possible.

During a call with members of the Respawn Entertainment team, game designer John Larson shared some useful advice for players concerned that the learning curve has become too steep over the last 20 seasons.

Larson advises: "The tip I'll always give to new players is stick with a relatively simple kit whether it's a Lifeline or a Bloodhound. I think getting reps on one Legend for at least 10 games will help give better context on how players can use it in the ever-shifting fight and playspace. I think Mixtape is a great place to play around and get familiar with different weapons."

Mastering one Legend to begin with is a sensible option as attempting to use all 26 in the space of a few hours makes it difficult to learn the nuances of the abilities that each one possesses.

Just like Larson said, the Mixtape playlist is incredibly useful for getting used to new Legends without having to hinder squadmates in

Alter is the 26th Legend to arrive into the Apex Games. Armed with the ability to phase through solid objects, her addition is bound to spice up the meta once players get to grips with her potentially game-changing mechanics.
