Arc System Works is set to unveil more information on Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls and upcoming projects later this month. On June 26, the studio will showcase a presentation detailing updates on current Arc Sys titles (namely Guilty Gear Strive), Tokon, the recently announced tag fighter, and an upcoming project with director Daisuke Ishiwatari at the helm.
It's no secret that over the past few years, Arc System Works has shifted from being a niche fighting game studio to, perhaps, one of the most popular developers in the genre. Bandai's outreach and partnership with Dragon Ball FighterZ, released in 2018, put them on the map in a big way. Now, the Japanese developer is arguably tasked with an even greater challenge: delivering a satisfying Marvel tag-based fighter.
We already know some stuff about Marvel Tokon. Namely, it'll be a 4v4 tag-fighter with some mechanics that will allow players to either control a single character throughout the whole match or switch as they please (whether this works like the ratio system in CvS or not remains to be seen). Just eight characters showed up in the announcement trailer at the June 2025 Sony State of Play, so that's one thing fans can look forward to (hopefully) seeing at the Arc Sys stream.
click to enlargeOf course, the studio still has some ongoing projects. Guilty Gear Strive fans have yet to see more of Lucy, the guest character from Cyberpunk 2077. She was announced all the way back at Evo 2024, we're closing in on a year since her reveal, and, barring some unfortunate leaks, no official first look has been shared. Other content, such as a new ranked system is also set to come out in the next few months.
Finally, just as intriguing as any potential Tokon reveals is the project legendary game director Daisuke Ishiwatari is working on. Could it be a new fighting game in the Guilty Gear or BlazBlue universes? Is it Persona 5 Arena? Or perhaps he's finally fulfilling his long-time dream of becoming a rockstar and is set to announce a world tour? We'll have to tune in and find out.
