A new datamine of the latest Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 update has revealed the name of CoD 2024 as Black Ops 6.
Planned to be revealed in an upcoming Xbox Games Showcase, the next Call of Duty game has been known under the title Black Ops Gulf War for months now.
In the new Modern Warfare 3 Season 3 Reloaded update, dataminers discovered a new pistol blueprint for an upcoming event that teases the next game in the Black Ops series.
Added to the game as part of a CoD 2024 event, the new STEEL blueprint for the 9MM Daemon references the cover art for the original Call of Duty: Black Ops game.
The new pistol blueprint has the words Sally and a tally for the number six etched into the side. In the original Black Ops, the Sally handgun has eight tallies. This could be a hint that the next Call of Duty: Black Ops game could either be called Black Ops 6 or will be a prequel to the original game.
Currently, it’s believed that Black Ops: Gulf War is the title of the next game in the Call of Duty franchise. If true, the new game would take place after the original BLOPS as the Gulf War occurred in the 1990s. However, this would technically be the sixth game in the Black Ops series.
The STEEL weapon blueprint is set to be released during a CoD 2024 reveal event for Modern Warfare 2. Players should be able to earn this new weapon sometime around June 9, 2024.
At the time of writing, multiple Black Ops 6 leaks have already occurred. We already know the full Black Ops Gulf War perks list, all Black Ops 6 weapons, and even the list of grenades that will be available on launch.
No release date for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has been announced, but it will likely release sometime in late October or early November.
