Fortnite is the king of crossovers, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone that a collaboration with Avatar: The Last Airbender has been leaked. While the Netflix series hasn’t set the world on fire, fans do still love that original Nickelodeon series and that’s reason enough to be excited about this.
According to leaker iFireMonkey, Avatar: The Last Airbender will arrive as part of the game’s Mid-Season Event Pass, seemingly to tie in with the Netflix show. Lead character Aang can instantly be claimed, supposedly, alongside a LEGO Aang for LEGO Fortnite. Players will also be able to earn an Appa glider if they participate in an event, which will be fun to see.
The leaker claims to have seen this leak on the game’s API, though things can always change so fans should take this with a grain of salt. Even with all of that, we wouldn’t be surprised if Avatar does come to Fortnite sooner rather than later. We’ve seen every major franchise under the sun come to this battle royale shooter and we wouldn’t be surprised if Team Avatar is a part of it soon.
Crossovers in Fortnite have become less impressive as the years go on since the game is home to everything from Marvel to Tomb Raider. However, it’s always fascinating to see how these familiar characters look in the game’s signature art style. Some characters end up with really good designs, as Spider-Man and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have shown.
Seeing Avatar: The Last Airbender appear in the battle royale is neat, though it does make us sad that we don’t have a great game based on the IP. Avatar: The Last Airbender - Quest for Balance ended up being another mediocre licensed game with bad combat and lame puzzles. The characters were represented better in the Nick All-Star Brawl games and Team Avatar will reportedly get their own fighting game soon.
