If we told you that the studio that brought you M3GAN would be helping to publish a Stardew Valley-esque murder mystery, farming sim game called Grave Seasons, would you believe us? Because it's real.
To be more specific, Blumhouse Games, a vision from the production studio behind some of the biggest horror films in the world, revealed at the Summer Game Fest a whole variety of interesting indie games that would be coming sometime in the future.
One such trailer was that of Grave Seasons, and if you're a fan of both cozy farming like that which you can find in Stardew Valley, and horror, this might be the game for you.
Developed by Perfect Garbage, Grave Seasons follows players as they enter a charming and inviting town. However, the town just so happens to have a dark and terrible secret. A secret that some are even willing to kill for to keep it locked away for good.
What's interesting is that, alongside the intoxicating mystery that surrounds the town, players will also be able to get closer and form relationships with the people who live there. These relationships are all pretty dynamic, and can thus interact with the narrative in a number of different ways. Who knows, you might even end up in a romance with a supernatural murderer. Maybe you can even, oh we don't know, fix them? Only time will tell.
But Grave Seasons isn't all doom and gloom. The upcoming horror game has a farming element that will feel familiar to fans of the genre. You'll just get an extra kick out of the whole experience if you like to investigate murder almost as much as you like to pull up weeds.
Grave Seasons currently does not have a confirmed release date. So, in the meantime, if you're still hankering for some farming sim goodness, why not check out our list of several games that are similar to Stardew Valley?
