Newly leaked footage of GTA VI gameplay was leaked by the son of a Rockstar Games employee. Leaked on social media platform TikTok, a few seconds of new footage has been shared.
Still available to view on TikTok channel i_see_in_4K, alleged gameplay footage shows an overhead view of the new game’s map in a dev mode camera view. The video shows an overhead view of the city at golden hour with low traffic density.
Via GTABase, the leaked GTA VI footage has been said to come from the son of a developer working on the open-world game. While unconfirmed, the trusted GTA news source reported the footage did come from someone close to a developer.
Following the footage’s release, a photo of the alleged TikTokker next to his father was shared online. However, there is a possibility that the viral image is not entirely accurate, so we won’t be sharing it here.
“In a totally unexpected turn of events, it appears the ‘leaked’ footage has come from the son of a Rockstar Games employee,” GTABase reported. “The evidence to suggest the video has come from someone related to the employee in question is fairly convincing… It’s possible that the photo being used as evidence is not the son of the employee, or that the source of this leak is from a third-party attempting to pose as such.”
Rockstar Games has yet to take down any of the two videos at the time of writing, leading many to question the accuracy of the alleged leaks. However, with the first ever GTA VI trailer set to release tomorrow, it won’t be long until we find out.
Grand Theft Auto 6 has been highly targeted by leakers. As the first game in the series in ten years, the open world title has been hit with major leaks of in-development footage. While some casual viewers reacted negatively to the early development footage, other developers took the opportunity to inform fans how games are actually made.
GTA VI is expected to be a massive technical improvement over the ongoing GTA V with new online features replacing the outdated Rockstar Social Club. The game is expected to release on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 with a PC release sometime afterwards.
