It looks like Overwatch 2 isn’t the only game releasing a new game mode this month. Just in, Marvel Rivals has given a look at Giant-Size Brain Blast—a game mode that gives everyone a big cartoon bobblehead.
Brain Blast also comes with its own leaderboard, plus some exclusive goods that will only be available during the event. So get to it while the getting is good.
Giant-Size Brain Blast Mode
The mode is as simple as it suggests, it takes existing Marvel Rivals characters, gives them cartoonishly large heads, and has them deck it out in regular matches. Check out the reveal trailer:
“🧠 Heads Up - literally! 🧠
“Introducing Giant-Size Brain Blast, the most mind-blowing mode in Marvel Rivals! Get in, get huge, and get your name on that leaderboard. Score free event-exclusive titles and an emote just for playing.”
According to GameSpot, the Brain Blast event will have two sessions in game, with one starting on April 25, and the other on May 2. 12 players will be put in each round and compete for event-exclusive goods, and at the end of each round, title rewards will be given to players who are in the top 500 ("Giant-Sized Brain"), top 100 ("Monster-Sized Brain"), and top 10 ("Planet-Sized Brain") leaderboards. Completing 10 rounds will also get you the Brain Blast emote—which will let you present a big head in a regular match; but it's only going to be available for one character of your choosing.
Big Head Mode
Though it does come as a surprise that Marvel Rivals would have a mode as silly as Brain Blast, having a Big Head Mode has been an inside joke when it comes to modern games. Big Head Mode goes as far back as Goldeneye 007 for the N64 and has been added to games like Tekken, Gears of War, Jak & Daxter, and more; even the Batman Arkham games have a Big Head Mode.
Giant-Size Brain Blast launches on Marvel Rivals on April 25. The game is now playable for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
