A Modern Warfare 3 player has uncovered the worst gun to use in Sledgehammer Games' latest multiplayer offering.
Thanks to the carry-forward initiative, Modern Warfare 3 is packed full of guns and weapons possessing a range of characteristics to suit all styles of play. With the November 15 patch notes containing a dose of buffs and nerfs, the best guns continue to prove popular.
As attention starts turning towards the launch of Season 1, one player has managed to uncover the worst weapon to use in all of multiplayer thanks to its lack of damage output and awful recoil pattern.
According to Reddit user Youngstown_Mafia, the Sidewinder battle rifle is the worst Modern Warfare 3 gun anyone can use during a match.
The player explains: "The Sidewinder might be one of the worst weapons I've played with in CoD. Terrible recoil, bad damage, and no range." It turns out there are plenty of others in agreeance. Another adds: "Well this is disappointing to read. It was crushing in zombies and I just extracted it hoping it would do as well in PvP."
Slotting into the battle rifle category, the Sidewinder acts as a hybrid between an assault rifle and a marksman rifle. In theory, it should deliver plenty of firepower but its recoil pattern causes plenty of problems for those using it to complete challenges. One player believes: "I think it's called the Sidewinder because it winds around the side of anybody you shoot at because it's so ass."
With its lack of firepower already causing frustration among players, there's every chance the Sidewinder receives a substantial buff in order to bring the rifle in line with the rest of the weapon arsenal. For now, it's worth avoiding this particular gun as there are stronger weapons that are much easier to control and capable of eliminating an opponent at a faster speed.
We'll have to wait and see if Sledgehammer Games spots the Sidewinder slander and decides to adjust its performance.
