Want an Overwatch Stadium tier list to help you decide which character you should main in the new mode? Well, you're in luck.
Overwatch 2 introduced Stadium, a unique mode that adds a ton of replayability to the game. It lets players create builds and buy power-ups between rounds, earning credits through gameplay, similar to League of Legends.
Unlike the main modes, the hero pool in Overwatch 2 Stadium is smaller, and you can't swap heroes due to the nature of the mode. So, with that said, it's in your best interest to pick a super strong hero.
Overwatch 2 Stadium Tier List
Before I begin, let's set some ground rules:
- I'll break the tier list by role. Sure, I'll have all heroes in a single-tier list, but I will then go into detail about which are the best DPS, tank, and support heroes.
- Overwatch Stadium builds are unpredictable and can take different paths. They also don't function in a vacuum; a great build against a specific comp can be useless against another. With that said, I'll try to pick the best scenario possible for each hero.
- Tier lists are not an exact science, so this is all for fun!
Best DPS In Overwatch Stadium
For my ranking, I went with this:
- S-Tier: Soldier 76
- A-Tier: Genji, Cassidy, Reaper
- B-Tier: Mei
- D-Tier: Ashe
It's no secret that Soldier: 76 is the best DPS for Overwatch Stadium. He's an easy-to-pick-up damage-dealer who has some of the most broken builds in the entire game. Chaingun is extremely easy to use and has a ton of utility by adding a .5% weapon damage buff for each consecutive shot. You pair that with items that increase ammo, and you're all set to cause some chaos.
The majority of DPS are also extremely serviceable. If you're not a hitscan player, Genji is likely you're best bet to provide some usefulness for your team. While there are some flashy powers like Iaido Strike (which allows you to swing your Dragonblade after deflecting) you're best initial bet is Wyrm's Maw, which grants you a 10% damage buff when you use Swift Strike on enemies that have been hit with shuriken's the last four seconds. It's also stackable up to five times.
In any case, please avoid Ashe by all means. She lacks the firepower, the perks to make her good, and the mobility to stand out in a game like Overwatch Stadium.
Best Tanks In Overwatch Stadium
For tanks, this is my ranking:
- S-Tier: Zarya
- A-Tier: Junkerqueen
- B-Tier: Orisa and Reinhardt
- C-Tier: D.Va
Zarya is undeniably the best tank in Overwatch Stadium. Looking at the tanks available in the mode, she doesn't have a bad time dealing with any besides, maybe, Reinhardt.
She has incredible early-game powers like No Limits, which increases her maximum energy to 150, granting it at a 150% rate, giving her a very noticeable buff compared to other tanks right from the get-go. If you have a great first round and can purchase the Epic Bigger Beam item (adds 10% extra damage and makes the primary fire 20% longer), you're set to become a powerhouse, as this will mitigate the risk of having to overextend.
The second-best tank for me is Junkerqueen. She isn't as versatile as Zarya, as the Russian can have multiple builds with different goals in mind. For the Australian, it's all about sustaining with powers such as Thrill of Battle (Adrenaline Rush also heals allies within 12m for up to 50% of what you're receiving) and Let's Go Win, which resets your Commanding Shout cooldown.
As for the rest of the tanks, Orisa and Rein are solid picks if you don't feel comfortable picking up another hero in this category, but they lack some tools to compete against the best in class properly. As for D.Va, she has a terrible time dealing with many of the tanks in Stadium, so she's by default a very poor pick.
Best Healers In Overwatch Stadium
Finally, for healers, this is my ranking:
- S-Tier: Juno
- A-Tier: Kiriko, Mercy
- B-Tier: Lucio
- C-Tier: Moira, Ana
Juno is one of the standout heroes of Overwatch Stadium. Want a full healing bot build? Go for the Medicinal Missiles power (Pulsar Torpedoes heal an extra 30 HP and cause allies hit by them to receive 50% more healing for 3 seconds). Looking for a mix of both DPS and healing? Medimaster is your bet (allows Juno to hit crits on both allies and enemies).
Other healers like Kiriko and Mercy are no slouches, of course. You can lean into Kiriko's DPS capabilities with Foxy Fireworks (after reloading, your next 3 kunai explode and deal 20 extra damage), or become a clutch machine with Two-Zu (gives Protection Suzu an additional charge).
As for Mercy, she's all about remaining nimble, so things like Renaissance (after a successful Resurrect, activate Valkyrie for 5 seconds) are your go-to. You can also make Valkyrie incredibly powerful with Crepuscular Circle, which applies both the healing and damage boost at the same time.
