A new season of Pokémon GO has been announced and it looks like the mobile app is going to fans of the Alola region very happy. While the game’s trailer doesn’t confirm it, the upcoming World of Wonders season teases something special coming from these portals.
The trailer opens on a trainer and they’re male Nidoran, looking at various Pokémon in the area. It doesn’t look like this season has anything to offer until a portal opens, hinting at either Ultra Beasts from Sun and Moon or the past and future Pokémon from Scarlet and Violet.
None of these beasts are shown during the trailer but it would be a good way to make Pokémon GO a lot more interesting. Right now, the game has a smorgasbord of Pokémon from various regions, as Niantic wants to keep players coming back to the app. Hopefully, more details on the event will be announced, which seems likely with Pokémon Day looming around.
Fans will probably flock to the app, as it still has millions of users who play it every day. Some people play it for minor exercise, while others just have fun catching Pokémon since it’s a simple but fun process. This goes to show how much this game was able to keep people interested, even with Niantic shoving microtransactions down fans’ throats.
Pokémon GO doesn’t have the best reputation amongst hardcore fans these days, as it’s been a greedy game as of late. Recently, the folks at Niantic tried to screw fans over with a fake deal to buy more in-game currency. Despite some of these underhanded tactics, fans still flock to the game for whatever reason and that won’t stop anytime soon.

Only time will tell if Niantic will ever listen to fan feedback, though it looks like that will never happen. As it stands, fans have accepted what Pokémon GO is and World of Wonders should keep those players interested. Curious players can download the game right now on iOS and Android.
