More Street Fighter 6 outfits are finally coming. This time, all of the season 2 DLC will receive a third costume, including M. Bison Terry, Mai, and Elena. These outfits will launch on June 5.
The designs are all but forgettable to say the least, and that's a positive. Capcom went for some highly stylized costumes that include a baller Terry basketball outfit, a dripped out M. Bison, a fashionably casual Mai, and a very colorful Elena.
Season 2 has stretched far longer than fans or Capcom had hoped for, with Elena, the final character of Year 2, launching on June 5, alongside the Switch 2 version of SF6. Four months after the last character, Mai Shiranui, was released.
The first wave of outfit 3's for the base roster came out back in December 2023. A few months later, in May 2024, the first season of DLC (Rashid, A.K.I, Ed, and Akuma) got their own third outfits. It took over a year not only for season 2 to end, but to get more costumes.
Despite its strong sales and notable popularity (especially in Japan) the Street Fighter 6 post-launch content has had fans criticizing Capcom for, well, the lack of content.
click to enlargeThe outfit release cadence has been poor. On top of that, each season having only four characters makes the wait for a new DLC that much longer. Not to mention, the Fighting Pass, SF6's version of a battle pass, has very few meaningful rewards for players who don't spend the majority of their time tinkering with custom avatars.
Some of these issues are starting to be addressed by the developers. Capcom promised a revamp of the Fighting Passes to make them more enticing for the general population starting with Year 3. Furthermore, costume 4 for several characters are set to be released this summer, with more coming down the line
The new Elena patch will also drop some more cosmetic stuff, including new versus screens for online match, so there'll be some new bells and whistles on top of the costumes.
Do note that the Street Fighter 6 Years 1-2 Fighters Edition coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 won't include any of the costumes
