The long-awaited Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake will launch at some point before March 2026, according to Ubisoft. While no release window was given to fans, the latest 24-25 earnings document states that the company expects to ship the game during this fiscal year.

The 24-25 fiscal year for Ubisoft was one filled with ups and downs. Star Wars Outlaws didn't perform as they had hopéd for, and in order to ensure Assassin's Creed Shadows did meet the high expectations the franchise is known for, the game was delayed to the tail end of the fiscal year, releasing this past March 20.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake is looking to be one of the company's strongest titles for this upcoming year. The remake was originally announced back in 2020, with very little news coming in the following years.

It's finally happening

Development started earlier than 2020 too, as the official website still only lists the Sands of Time remake as a game coming for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. That is because it was also supposed to come out four years ago, with the game being delayed to March 2021 before subsequently put on hold indefinitely.

Of course, releasing only on PS4 and Xbox One is likely not going to be the case anymore, with PS5 and Xbox Series the new console standard. It'll be interesting to see if the last-gen console will also get a version of the Sands of Time remake.

In any case, the report does confirm that we can expect the Sands of Time remake to launch early in 2026. Last year a small teaser trailer reminded fans of the game's existence. At the June Ubisoft Forward presentation, a short 30 second-clip revealed that the highly anticipated return of Prince of Persia will happen in 2026.

As events like Summer Game Fest approach, expect news from Ubisoft as they ramp up marketing for the game. In the meantime, I suggest you give Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown a shot.
