Riot Games’ beloved Counter-Strike competitor VALORANT is finally releasing on console platforms after years of PC exclusivity. With this new console release, on both Xbox and PlayStation, console players will be able to enjoy this frenetic, tactical FPS game for the first time.

Coming to Xbox Series and PlayStation 5 systems, the new VALORANT console port release date has yet to be set. However, the game will receive a limited-time closed beta period before release on June 14, 2024.

Announced during Summer Game Fest 2024 alongside LEGO Horizon Adventures and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the game’s new console port has been tweaked to run perfectly on your console of choice. At the time of writing, resolution and framerate targets have yet to be confirmed for the game.

VALORANT on console will have cross-progression across PC and console. Using your VALORANT account, you’ll be able to use all of your unlocked Agents, skins and more across the game’s myriad maps.

However, those who have seen their accounts banned on PC will not be unbanned on console. This means that anyone who has been banned for unsavory conduct across any version of Riot’s free-to-play shooter will have to create a new account no matter where they decide to play.

“If you have a VALORANT account that’s received a permaban or your Riot account has been banned, you will not be eligible to play VALORANT on Console,” Riot games confirmed in a blog post.

For those who want to secure their place in the VALORANT console limited beta, you can sign up to the exclusive test period right here. Remember, signing up for the beta doesn’t guarantee you access to the game at any point.

Those who unlock any items in VALORANT during the game’s beta period will keep their progress upon the game’s full Xbox and PlayStation release. Furthermore, any unlocks will also remain playable on the PC version of the game via the same VALORANT account.
