Nintendo has announced that Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp has been delayed once again. Initially scheduled for April 8, WayForward's upcoming remake is being pushed back over "recent world events," and currently doesn't have a new release window.
Making this announcement via Twitter, Nintendo confirmed:
"In light of recent world events, we have made the decision to delay Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, which was originally scheduled to release on Nintendo Switch on 08/04. Please stay tuned for updates on a new release date."
Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp Faces New Delay Over "Recent World Events"
While Nintendo doesn't explicitly name said events, we can't imagine this refers to anything other than Russia's recent invasion of Ukraine. Given how Advance Wars offers a more colourful and cartoony take on war, it's not entirely surprising the Japanese publisher has made this call.
Initially scheduled for December last year, this marks Advance Wars' second delay since last year's E3 2021 reveal. Presenting a modern enhancement of the original Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising on Game Boy Advance, we don't know when it'll now arrive on Nintendo Switch, but we'll keep you informed once we do.
