Luka is an AOE damage dealer who specialises in applying Bleed effects on enemies. Our Honkai Star Rail Luka build will focus on optimising his damage over time (DoT) effects in Nihility teams. He is the newest 4-star in the game and the very first Nihility character that deals Physical damage.
Luka is a renowned cage fighter who excels in martial arts. He might have a brash appearance but he fights to protect the people of the Underworld. He wants to bring hope to others because of his rough past. The Wildfire member has a mechanical arm that helps him get an upper hand against his foes and he does not back down from a challenge.
So, the character's gameplay is as strong as his personality and you will not regret building him if you enjoy DoT teams. Before we dig deeper into his build, make sure to check out our Kafka build. Kafka and Luka are best friends in DoT teams, as Kafka can extend the duration of Luka's Bleed effects while also applying Lightning DoT herself. However, you do need some defensive utility, so be sure to check our Honkai Star Rail Luocha build if you plan on using him to keep your party healthy.
The best Honkai Star Rail Luka build
Best light cones for Luka
- Good Night and Sleep Well: For every debuff the target enemy has, the DMG dealt by the wearer increases by 12%, stacking up to three times. This effect also applies to DoT.
- Patience Is All You Need: The wearer deals 16% more DMG to enemies inflicted with DoT. For every attack, increases the wearer's SPD by 4%, up to five times. Meanwhile, enemies receiving attacks take 20% more DoT for one turn.
If you can get your hands on Good Night and Sleep Well, it will be your best 4-star option. Patience Is All You Need is worth using on Luka, but you should not go out of your way to pull it, since it is not as impactful as other 5-star light cones we have seen in other Paths. You can use other Nihility light cones like Fermata or even 3-star light cones if you do not have access to our recommended options yet.
Best relics for Luka
We want to optimise Luka's Physical damage, therefore we want to go for something like Champion of Streetwise Boxing, which is his go-to relic set. Alternatively, you can also opt for Musketeer of Wild Wheat, which gives him a boost in ATK as well as SPD.
Champion of Streetwise Boxing
- 2-Piece Bonus: Increases Physical DMG by 10%.
- 4-Piece Bonus: After the wearer attacks or is hit, their ATK increases by 5% for the rest of the battle. This effect can stack up to five times.

Luka has some powerful Eidolons and his E1 and E2 are highly effective. But getting his Eidolons can be tricky as the 4-star slot on his banner is contested by Serval and Sampo. So, your odds of getting Luka Eidolons are not very promising. Therefore, we recommend getting at least one copy only unless you are actively going for the featured 5-star unit as well.
