We’ve not heard about Overwatch 2 for sometime, but a recent developer update is giving fans hope that a beta's on the way. While Blizzard hasn't commented on the matter, recent online activity has suggested something big could be coming.
On Twitter, Helba the AI and BlizzTrack highlighted a dev version of Overwatch has been updated from 1.68 to 2.0 on Battle.net. Given the significance in that naming, that's gotten fans hopeful for an Overwatch 2 beta.
Fans Hopeful For Overwatch 2 Beta After Major Dev Update
Last week, Blizzard head Mike Ybarra had promised news for Warcraft and Overwatch "over the coming weeks." At that time, he stated:
"Blizzard is a big studio and we have talented and growing teams supporting live games as well. Over the coming weeks, you'll be hearing more on that from Warcraft and Overwatch. Diablo will follow. Stay tuned!"
Overwatch 2 currently doesn’t have a release date, though the multiplayer shooter is rumoured to launch later this year. In the meantime, Overwatch is available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
