Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have been making waves since launching nearly two weeks ago. Setting sales records in Japan, speedrunners were quick to get involved too, one of whom just finished Shining Pearl in 33 minutes.
As spotted by NME, speedrunner and YouTuber Werster posted a video of him finishing the whole Pokemon Shining Pearl game in 33 minutes. Relying on glitches and tricks, this was achieved under the "any per cent’ speedrunning rules, where he missed large parts of the wider game.

Some parts the speedrunner deleted include trainer battles and the Elite Four matches. Werster worked around these to minimize the time required to finish the game, also setting the text speed to fast. Music was reduced to stop jingles, door animations were interrupted and various exploits where achieved to reach out of bounds locations.
